Taa, not like T

Taa. Sounds simple, right? Actually, alot of first-timers mess up on this, assuming it makes the same sound as the English letter "T". But in reality, the Arabic letter Taa has a different Makhraj.

Name: Taa

Sound: T   (ex: no example; see chart )

Makhraj: The Makhraj for Taa is fairly simple. Just remember it's not the same as the letter "T". "T" comes from the tongue touching the upper ridge of the mouth, while Taa comes from the upper portion of the mouth where the gum meets the teeth.
