1. Three letters, Alif, Wow, and Yaa are called Hurooful-Maddah.

These letters are considered Hurooful-Maddah when:

​

      The letter before Alif has a Fathah on it (example: بَا )

​

      The letter before Wow has a Dammah on it (example: بُو )

​

      The letter before Yaa has a Kasrah on it (example: بِي )

​

​

2. Hurooful-Maddah should always be stretched for at least 1 second.
