Now that you have Fathah down, Kasrah is much easier. Instead of having an upwards sound like Fathah, Kasrah has a downwards sound. So where (Baa + Fathah = Ba ) , (Baa + Kasrah = Be ) .

1. Now, there are two ways of reading letters with Kasrah; Ma'roof, and Majhool.

​

        Ma'roof :  (Baa + Kasrah = Be ), (Jeem + Kasrah = Je ), (Seen + Kasrah = Se ), (Zaa +Kasrah = Ze )

​

        Majhool :  (Baa + Kasrah = Bay ), (Jeem + Kasrah = Jay ), (Seen + Kasrah = Say), (Zaa + Kasrah = Zay )

Letters with Kasrah should ALWAYS be read Ma'roof and NOT Majhool.

Also note that Kasrah is usually placed below the letter. However there is an exception (which we will learn about later)
